Last day of work today..

It was a lot harder than I thought.

I realized that I'm going to miss this company, and it's people a LOT.

I even heard from a few people that I thought could care less if I died, that were quite saddened to hear of my departure..

As part of my goodbye email, I wrote a poem for everyone..

Everyone loved it.. and a few people told me they had no idea I was so talented.

I replied with a blank stare, because that's something I came up with in 20 minutes, and its dumb.. But they loved it.

Anyway. It's going to be hard.. but I said my goodbyes to everyone, and I will keep in touch and be back, because quite frankly they're all a really good bunch of people and it would be assholish of me not to.

Unfortunately, Lynda Haley (the general manager) was one of the last people I talked to.. and in true Lynda fashion.. I left feeling kind of assy.

"Some advice... Go in with your eyes open.. and remember you don't know everything. You don't have any Life Experience, so you've gotta use your common sense"

Now, I know she meant well.. But the way she said it made me feel like shit. I'm kind of bummed about that.. But it's probably more that im fucking exhausted, and nervous as shit about the move tommorow... Once we're in Calgary, I'll feel so much better.

Ugh.

For the first time ever, I think, I was abvle to sleep decently on Christmas Eve.

Anyway, making it through teh day at work is going to be the hard part.

My Main man Wil went and posted something today that I think makes excellent sense.


Apparently, my country holds a fundamentally different set of values than I thought we did, and that scares the shit out of me. I still believe that Bush is bad for America, and though I'm virtually certain that the next four years will be an absolute disaster. Not just because we have gotten four more years of the Bush agenda, but because this election has been an enthusiastic endorsement of that agenda.

I hoped I would wake up this morning to the good news that our long national nightmare was over.

It's not over.

It's just beginning.

Well, fuck.

I was hoping I could go to bed knowing that there was no longer a cokehead monkey in the Oval Office, unfortunately, because Iowa and Ohio fucked it up for everybody, no such luck.

the new Batman Cartoon sucks.

The art style is pretty crappy.. all the characters look.. I dunno.. Crudely drawn.. Anytime the Batman is onscreen, it's cool.. but When you see normal people they all look goofy.

This interpretation of the Joker is pretty sucky too.. He's like a whacked out hippy.. He's no fun at all.

I like where they're going with the interpretations of Catwoman, the Penguin, and Mr. Freeze, but the Joker is a let down.. Not to mention it's just weird not having Kevin Conroy as the voice of Batman.. it's especially distracting because Bruce Wayne/Batman is voiced by a guy who did spider-man's voice for the cartoon and the video game..

I'll give it two more episodes to redeem itself, but so far, it sucks.

The theme is ok, though.

As I expected, Bad Boys II is one really, really horrible PC game.

Oh well, it gives me something to do.

Tony Hawk 4 is fun.

My records are here, but Michelle left the box at work because she's a dork (I have them shipped to her workplace (my old hotel) because I know there will be someone there 24/7 to recieve the package.. whereas at my house ill probably be asleep, and since I live smack dab in the middle of crime central I dont want a box on my porch because it wont last.
